Bring books alive with Bookworms!
Reading to children is one of the best things you can do to build their early language skills and help them develop a love of books that will support their future success as readers. The more you read, sing and talk with your child – the more they will understand about language!
During our engaging sessions, we will do just that - sing, read, dance, play and create our way through our favourite books!
Our Bookworms program:
introduces children to developmentally appropriate books and brings them alive!
Provides self-paced, age-appropriate learning invitations and opportunities to create based on the story (think playdough, small worlds, and other opportunities for your child to develop their creative and fine motor skills)
supports parents as their child's first teacher
raises awareness of the value and enjoyment of reading
expands your child’s knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
What you can expect: After starting with some interactive welcome songs (where parents are encouraged to participate and sing along with their child), we will introduce and read the story of the week. A number of creative play and learning opportunities will be set up for children and parents to explore at their own pace, as well as our outdoor facilities. We will all enjoy morning tea to finish – please don’t forget to bring a piece of fruit to share!
We are looking forward to meeting our new lot of little Bookworms this Term!
