Mondays 9 - 12.30pm $35 per child with KCH Membership For children 2 - 5 yrs old that are toilet trained
Playtime is a Drop’n’Go program for children aged from 2 – 5 years old. Parents are able to leave their children with our experienced Educators for some creative fun, and as such, we ask that your child be fully toilet trained.
Playtime is a casual pay-as-you-go program, with a maximum of 18 children per session. You will need to complete a registration form for your child, and once we have received the registration form you will be added to the CLOSED Playtime Facebook page. This page will allow you to book in for future sessions as well as see what adventures your child gets up to each week.
General Class Overview: Young children love unstructured, free play. A time where they can be creative, move at their own pace in a safe, warm and engaging environment. This is what ‘Playtime’ promises at Karratha Community House. Every week a variety of spaces will be set up inside and outside for the children. Children can mill around as they please – seeing where they fit in to the world around them. Our Educators aim will be to provide a range of creative learning and play opportunities to inspire the children and to help them engage with the spaces provided. They will support when required, guide when asked, and help the children make choices and find their voice, in a gentle and fun manner.
This program focus's on connections. Connecting to the world around them and connecting to their peers. Creativity is the key to these connections in Playtime. Whether it’s singing, whether it’s getting messy with some paints, whether it’s creating cubby houses outside – this is a space where we want your children to form friendships, relax and have fun, by having the ability to make some choices.
There will be some informal mat time where we will sing and be silly and get to know each other. And there will be opportunities to join in on educator guided activities – but these will happen as a result of natural inquiry.
Clothes: Please ensure your child wears clothes that you are happy for them to paint/get wet in. We have lots of fun, and sometimes make a mess!!! Also please try to ensure bottoms are easy to get on and off for ease when going to the toilet. We encourage independence, but of course will help whenever required. Please include a spare change of clothes in your child’s bag. Please include a hat, if your child does not have a hat, they will be asked to play in the shade during outside time. Please ensure everything is labelled.
Food: Please ensure your child has a hearty breakfast before they arrive - children (and adults!) are much happier with a full tummy! Please note that KCH is a NUT FREE area. Please also pack them a small morning tea. A piece of fruit and some crackers should be enough. We will have a break for morning tea halfway through the session. If your child has any special dietary requirements/allergies, please ensure this is noted on their registration form.
Medication: If your child has any medication or an action plan for any allergies/medical conditions it is vital we receive this plan or medication. All plans and any medication need to be in a cupboard accessible to the staff, and NOT in your child’s bag. This includes Asthma/Ventolin pumps. Again this must be noted on the child's registration form.
If you have any further questions please feel free to contact the staff.
