Come engage your child’s senses at Karratha Community House! Children learn so much through activities that use their senses and move their bodies. Open ended play plants the seeds of creativity, fosters innovation and allows children to do what they do best: question, explore and imagine! Our program has been developed to stimulate your child’s sense of touch, smell, sight, hearing, balance and proprioception while encouraging creativity and exploration in a child-friendly environment. We set up a number of sensory play invitations which you can work your way round with your little one, allowing your child to take the lead on the length of time spent on each. From cloud dough to edible paint and spaghetti to jelly, our sessions are colourful, stimulating and exciting sensory experiences! The best bit? We’ll do the tidying up! Frequently Asked Questions: Our facilitators: At the beginning of the session, we will welcome everyone with a song before our little ones begin exploring. We refer to the stations as ‘invitations’ as we are inviting children (and their parents!) to engage with them! We will walk around and provide assistance (and towels!) when necessary. A quick note: you are responsible for supervising your child while they participate in our sessions. Our facilitators are there to do just that – facilitate. Our trays are either edible, taste friendly or a texture tub so please be aware of the contents of the station before letting your little one dive in. We will always advise contents of our invitations prior to the class starting. Sensory play can be messy! Please don’t dress your little one in their finest clothes: be prepared for them to get messy. You’ll get messy too! Our classes are designed to be interactive! The best play happens when you get involved with your little one so be prepared to embrace the mess! We carefully choose our sensory play invitations to make sure that there are wet, dry, sticky, colourful and plain to ensure that we provide a balanced sensory experience. All of our stations are age appropriate and safe for our little ones. We hope to see you and your little ones at SENSORY PLAY soon! Miss Amy and Miss Jaci
